Wellesley Public Schools is currently in discussions about a possible adjustment to its Wednesday early release schedule. One option being considered would reduce early release days to once per month, rather than the current weekly schedule.
At this time, it’s important to note that no decision has been made, and the topic remains under review.
If the district determines that this change is the right path forward, it would not take effect until the 2027–2028 school year, giving families time to plan and adjust if needed.
Early release days are often used for teacher professional development and planning, so any changes would likely reflect broader scheduling priorities within the district.
We’ll continue to follow this and share updates as more information becomes available.
