Bloch Performing Arts

Founded in 2021, Bloch Performing Arts was created by Jessica Bloch-Moisand, and started as solely The Bloch Voice Studio with a vision to become a music school specializing in performing arts education for voice and piano.

The goal is to give students a complete music education within these disciplines to become great collaborators, musicians, and artists. Our teaching philosophy is to give each student a creative, healthy, and efficient way to use their voice and instrument. No matter the style, fostering a technique of complete vocal freedom and playing with easy musical communication is essential to our educational goals. Additionally, music education is not only about discipline and growth, but also about the growth of one's personhood. We take very seriously the need for compassionate education in an art form so vulnerable and personal.

Recently Bloch Performing Arts has expanded to include piano lessons with Rafi Mayer at The Mayer Piano Studio, and more voice lessons with Akela Franklin at The Franklin Voice Studio. Additionally students can join The Coura Voice Studio with Lucas Coura and The Reyna Voice Studio with Alexandra Reyna. You can also take Music Production classes and individual instruction with Rafi Mayer for more technical insights into music making and song creation. All lessons currently take place at either Somerville Music Spaces or at the teaching artists home studios.

In addition to their private lessons, students also have performance opportunities through community outreach performances such as our “A Little Bit In Love” concert at Atria Living Center in Burlington, or our studio masterclasses in Somerville, as well as the seasonal recitals in Arlington. We look forward to expanding our production abilities for student performances as well and will have more acting and specific performance classes coming soon!
